Sandep & Vrinda

Sandep and Vrinda  found their first home delight in Bellblock, Taranaki.

Originally from the Himalayan region of India, Sandep and Vrinda wanted their new build to have a hint of home, while still remaining modern. 

After looking at the existing property market for a while, Sandep and Vrinda couldn't find a home that offered what they were looking for. Opting to build new gave them a blank canvas to meet all their requirements while staying within their budget.

Sandep and Vrinda met with Signature Homes Taranaki to discuss their new build requirements. Their list of must-haves included a fireplace, high ceilings and lots of big windows - to achieve the Himalayan-inspired look.

Kieran from Signature Homes Taranaki worked with the couple to figure out the overall layout of the home, based on Sandep & Vrinda’s requirements of encompassing natural light throughout the home.

The couple opted for a modifed version of the Kiwi plan from our Smart Collection.

Sandep and Vrinda's interior aesthic of their home was inspired by their Himalayan roots, this was shown throughout their interior colour scheme and design features.

The heart of any Himalayan home is the fireplace, to recreate this Sandep and Vrinda added a narrow feature wall partition dividing the living and dining area, and fitted it with a double sided Escea gas fireplace. 

Sandep and Vrinda opted for a dark interior colour scheme inspired by traditional Himalayan homes. They added a modern twist, by pairing the dark interior with contrasting white sheer curtains and a light and bright white kitchen area.

To highlight the rustic Himalayan wintery vibe that Sandep and Vrinda love, they used fixtures and furnishings of wood, black metal and brass. They also layered the main living areas with textures of wool, sheepskin, dry flower arrangements, shaggy rugs, cushions and throws.
