Carl was renting a townhouse in Hamilton prior to building his dream home with Signature Homes Waikato. When a section became available in his preferred area to live – Flagstaff in Hamilton.

Carl had always wanted to Design & Build his dream home for himself and his dog Piper, so he reached out to the team at Signature Homes Waikato to discuss what his potential options could be. This was the start of Carl’s new home journey.

Carl approached Signature Homes Waikato with his list of must-haves including: timber detailing and accents, a large garage and an attic for extra storage space.

It was an easy decision for Carl to build with Signature Homes.

When it came to the floorplan, Carl knew he loved the aesthetic and feel of an H-shape layout, he opted for a modified-Tomorata plan from Signature Homes Pacific Collection.

The Tomarata was the perfect pre-designed plan to build off, that ticked all of Carl’s boxes but still had the ability to be tweaked to suit his requirements.

The plan offered a clever design with all the bells and whistles, including two-living spaces, a study and three generous bedrooms.

As you move through the pavilion style home you will see all living spaces, study, and master retreat are all grouped in one wing. While the two double bedrooms, family bathroom, and double garage are located in the adjoining wing.

Carl has always been interested in the design process of building a home, he worked with Signature Homes Waikato to finetune his choices, to create his dream home.

The striking exterior façade was achieved through the use mixed materials – San Selmo Smoked Brick in Opaque Slate and Aboda Vulcan shiplap weatherboard in Teek. Carl loved the contemporary and architectural design that resulted from the use of the two cladding options. The textured hardness of the exposed brick perfectly offsets the softness of the timber, creating an impressive home with some serious street appeal. 

Inside, the home is full of thoughtful design features that come together to create a stunning visual appeal.

Special features include Abodo Vulcan Screening on the kitchen island creating a luxe fluted design. The fluted design is continued through the use of Abodo Panelling, elevating the look and feel of the entryway and casual living space. The decorative detailing adds a touch of character and striking visual appeal to everyday spaces. 

Other special features include the beautiful and bold kitchen and bathroom splashback created from Pasado Moss feature tiles that add a pop of colour to the neutral colour palette.

The interior and exterior design aesthetic come together perfectly to create a luxe mancave.
