Wessel and Megan dreamed of building a new home in a country setting that offered plenty of space for their two children, Zoe and Marlo, to play, be active and adventurous. They kept their eye out for sections for a while until they found 'the one' in the picturesque Matangi, Waikato.

Wessel is a builder by trade and is no stranger to Signature Homes Waikato, where he used to be one of Signature Homes Builders/Project Managers.

"Choosing Signature Homes was an easy choice, I've experienced first-hand how buttoned up their processes are and how experienced the team is. I had complete confidence entrusting them with our forever home," explains Wessel.

What's not to love about this incredibly well-considered home in Waikato? Wessel and Megan wanted a home for all seasons, with lots of sheltered outdoor spaces and sun-drenched bedrooms and living spaces all year round. The expansive decking area comes complete with bifold doors to fight off the prevailing winds creating a cosy outdoor space in the winter months. While the bedrooms are generous in size for their children to grow into.

"The home's design is a result of many ideas on the table (thanks to Pinterest). The talented Signature Homes Waikato designers worked their magic to create a home design that included all the 'must-haves' and the free-flowing plan you see today. We want to stay here forever. It's where our children's childhood memories will be made," says Megan.

A timeless look sums up the look Wessel and Megan were after. "We didn't want our new home to feel or look like a new build. We wanted to create a home that looked at ease in its surroundings," explains Wessel. The home's exterior features country brick with rough mortar helps create a home that's fit for the countryside. Triclad weatherboard helps to add contrast and further visual appeal.

The country theme is carried through to the home's interior with high-pitched ceilings and exposed beams. Signature Homes interior design team worked closely with Megan and Wessel, carefully selecting paint colours and materials to achieve the country look.

I guess the Signature Homes Waikato team had to be on their best behavior, jokes Wessel. On a serious note, I’ve always admired how this high-performing building company works. Throughout our build, the team were always helpful, sincere, and genuine, with lots of laughs along the way that sums up Wessel and Megan’s building journey. I’d build with them again in a heartbeat!
