Signature Homes is proud to partner with Trees That Count to help to mitigate our carbon footprint.
Committed to building a better future and contributing to New Zealand’s goal of carbon neutrality by 2050, Signature Homes ensures that for every home constructed, greenhouse gas emissions generated during construction are offset by planting native trees with Trees That Count.
Te Pahii Bird Sanctuary, Far North, Northland
Located in the picturesque Far North region of Northland, Te Pahii Bird Sanctuary stands as a testament to conservation efforts and environmental stewardship.
Signature Homes takes pride in supporting the funding of 180 trees planted, contributing to the sanctuary's ongoing preservation and our continued support for native restoration projects across the country.
Nestled along the scenic Northland coastline, Te Pahii Wilderness Sanctuary spans 100 acres of protected land, featuring three tranquil surf beaches and providing crucial habitat for endangered NZ Dotterels.
Over the past 25 years, collaborative conservation work between the Department of Conservation and dedicated landowners has allowed the sanctuary to continue to thrive.
Te Pahii also houses a Shade House volunteer plant nursery, where native trees such as Pōhutukawa and Kauri are cultivated with the help of Project Island Song volunteers. With a focus on nurturing biodiversity, efforts continue to create a sanctuary that welcomes and supports various bird species.
Since the start of our partnership with Trees That Count, we have been proud to donate more than 40,000 native trees. Keep up with Signature Homes' tree planting progress here
